What does

Seva mean?

Seva (pronounced see-vah) is a service of love, and also a spiritual word that anyone can sing or chant to inspire greater love and service to all life.* It comes from the ancient Sanskrit language, and is used in Eckankar and several other spiritual paths.

Meet Lisa McCann, PhD, RFC®, MS, MA, and Lover of Life!

Principal and Wealth Advisor

Hello! I’m Lisa McCann, an independent, fiduciary wealth advisor based in Centennial, Colorado. As the founder of Seva Wealth Management, I help individuals, families, and business owners to build, grow, and protect their wealth, and nonprofits to magnify their impact, through personalized, comprehensive financial planning, sound investment management, tax-efficient strategies, and risk management.

Following a passion: I started working as an investor and trader during the 2020 pandemic, when I made full use of the free time many of us suddenly had at that unique time in history, to pursue a long-held interest in investing. I took a deep dive, first into learning long-term, strategic investing, value and fundamental investing, technical analysis and charting, stock investing, and options trading for long-term wealth accounts. Following my interests, I quickly added many types of shorter-term trading strategies – options trading for swing and day trading, futures (commodities) trading, forex (currencies) trading, and even trading options on futures!

Career shift with purpose: Driven by this keen interest in investing, trading and financial markets generally, I pivoted from a long career devoted to public service, first internationally with the United Nations, and then locally as a consultant with state and local governments and nonprofits in Colorado. I shifted into full-time work, managing and growing my own and my family’s wealth and trading privately in options, futures, forex, and options on futures.

Call to greater service: Several years into my investing and trading career, I began to feel a strong urge to be of greater service to others in addition to my own family, and to help them navigate the complex financial world that I had such a keen interest in, and ability to navigate. Responding to that urge, I expanded into wealth management – helping others to build, grow, and protect their wealth.

I obtained the Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses from FINRA* and NASAA**, and licenses to sell insurance products and annuities in Colorado and other states. I have also attained the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®) designation, and am enrolled in a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) training program and working to attain that designation.

Seva Wealth Management is the culmination of this process!

On the academic side, I hold a PhD in Public Affairs, a Masters Degree in Business and Public Administration, a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology, and a BA in Political Science.

My investment and trading education includes numerous extended courses in long-term investing, value and fundamental investing, technical analysis and charting, stock trading, and trading options, futures, forex, and options on futures.

On the personal side: I love climbing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, camping, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing – basically about anything one can do that is active and outdoors. I am assisted in these passions by Colorado’s great weather and beautiful scenery.

On the spiritual side, I am an avid spiritual student and love having conversations about spiritual perspectives and experiences, and how these play out in our everyday lives. I love talking with and getting to know people from every walk of life, because we are all Soul – divine sparks of God – having a human experience, even if we don’t know it or feel very divine at every moment!

On the family side, I am happily married to Jack Lile, a retired biochemist, doer and fixer of all things at home, and my loving and lovely companion in life. Together we have five grown kids and three grandchildren. My happiest moments are when spending time with the kids and grandkids, doing anything at all 😊
